Fund Application #1

Hello all,

We have our first application under the BLUCF. It is from boltandfolic. She is self employed as a freelance designer and with the economy being in the dumps still she is having some trouble making ends meet for her bunnies, Honey and Huddy. Money is really tight for her all around. Huddy is older and requires a bit more care than most buns with his arthritis. She hopes that work will pick up soon for her and she is hoping to repay it soon, however much we decide to give her.
Here's the request list:
Huddy's vet visit today, including meds: $50
Hay ordered from Kleenmama's Hayloft: $55
Timothy pellets: $17 (from the local HRS Bunny General Store)
Papaya Tabs: $7 (from the local HRS Bunny General Store)
Cosequin $48 Amazon was least expensive vs the Drs. Foster & Smith site
Litter: I have a buy one get one free coupon; I could get two 26 lb bags for $17
The total request is $194

Please register your approval or disapproval in the comments section. If you feel like the full amount is not appropriate, please suggest a dollar amount you deem more appropriate.

If you feel like donating to this particular cause, please donate to

  1. sensitivebunnyguy here I approve of the entire amount if it`s there. If not please let us know, so that those of us who can may donate enough to cover it.

  2. OK here goes. Seems a bit mean - since I have not contributed to the fund at this time. But this is my fourpenneth worth.

Although it is perfectly proper for the fund to support all basic needs of the bunnies in any time of need I somehow have different categories in my head for what is appropriate at different times.

So Vet Fee $50 - check
New hay for a snuffly bun. Esp since Oxbow are unlikely to offer much in the way of compensation $55 - check
Cosequin for darling Huddy $48 - check

But timmy pellets, papaya tabs and litter seem more like regular stuff that we all have to get for all our buns all the time. So - negative from me at this time.

If the new contract doesn't come through then I see no reason why this shouldn't be supported in the future.

Of course - I am not totally familiar with boltandfrolic's exact circumstances. But based on info so far submitted I would suggest a donation of $153.

I would also like to add that it takes a lot of guts to hold out your hand like this to be judged. Good luck bolt. I hope you get a quick decision.

PS I will also add that if others vote for the full amount I would totally support the majority decision.

  3. I vote for full amount. Some people will need help just feeding their buns when money is short, and this fund in its beginning was used for such supplies. If someone is asking, they need it and I trust boltandfrolic.

  4. We are ok with the full amount.

In some ways I do agree with killaypetshop regarding what categories certain items fall under... but with that said, it's the holidays, let us all have a happy one ^_^

  5. I'm completely ok with the entire amount. I know first-hand how hard it is to ask for help. Been there.
