As you know we've been nursing one of our tribe -our dwarf hotot Gigi - back to health. Normally we have a few hundred dollars in our emergency savings account set aside just for the pets but we recently found ourselves homeless for about a month this fall due to having to flee an unsafe roommate situation without finding a new home in time. This of course ate up the last of our resources and we've been struggling ever since. The very same day that Gigi first became snuffly, my husband was partially laid off at work, effective immediatly, and now has had his hours cut to less than 20 a week. I am a self-employed jewelry artist and even with the holiday shopping season, the economy in general has killed my income as well.
Our bills so far: (copied from statement - I can send you a scan of the bill if you'd prefer)
Office examination and consultation: 42.50
Bacteriology - Routine culture and sensitivity: 72.00
12 Baytril Liquid per cc 20 mg/ml: 28.44
We also had to buy syringes and simethicone, petromalt, and critical care to have on hand but since these things are more of a general care kind of expense, I am not asking for any help with these.
The vet bill came to 145.36 with tax and I would like to ask for assistance towards 123.26 of this. A very kind BLU'er visited my etsy shop to support Gigi during her illness and made a purchase of $22 that I am counting towards this already.
I never forget a debt, charitable or not, so I assure you I will contribute back to this fund whenever I can to at least the amount of anything I might receive.
Regardless of whether I am approved or not I want to thank you sincerely for all of the help I and others get on BLU, advice and everything.
Yours,
M Nicole Smith

BLUCF Exchange Rate
Please note:
BLUCF PayPal account donations actually default to CANADIAN dollars (my home currency). So depending on the exchange rate, the conversion into your home currency (usually US) will vary slightly. Don't be alarmed if you see this discrepancy on your credit statement.
- e.g. If you donate $20.00, you will have donated 20 canadian dollars, and 18.50 or so American dollars, and 14 or so Euros at this time. So please be mindful of the exchange rate when you contribute.
Thanks guys!

Fund Application #1
Hello all,
We have our first application under the BLUCF. It is from boltandfolic. She is self employed as a freelance designer and with the economy being in the dumps still she is having some trouble making ends meet for her bunnies, Honey and Huddy. Money is really tight for her all around. Huddy is older and requires a bit more care than most buns with his arthritis. She hopes that work will pick up soon for her and she is hoping to repay it soon, however much we decide to give her.
Here's the request list:
Huddy's vet visit today, including meds: $50
Hay ordered from Kleenmama's Hayloft: $55
Timothy pellets: $17 (from the local HRS Bunny General Store)
Papaya Tabs: $7 (from the local HRS Bunny General Store)
Cosequin $48 Amazon was least expensive vs the Drs. Foster & Smith site
Litter: I have a buy one get one free coupon; I could get two 26 lb bags for $17
The total request is $194
Please register your approval or disapproval in the comments section. If you feel like the full amount is not appropriate, please suggest a dollar amount you deem more appropriate.

CHRISTMAS SPECIAL!!!
Christmas is the season for giving! So for every contribution to the BLUCF, Harlemsmama (a fairly capable singer and songwriter) will personalize a classic christmas carol for you and your buns! And record it for you and send you a copy so you can have it to enjoy for many holiday seasons to come!
There is no contribution minimum (and I can probably be convinced to sing you a Christmas ditty even if you contribute nothing).
